De Dana Dan Movie Review and Download Free Songs!

De Dana Dan is a new comedy movie by Priyadarhan, who switched on to commercially driven comedy capers post the success of Hera Pheri and this is another movie with comedy star cast like Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Sameera Reddy and Katrina Kaif and producer is Ratan Jain and Chamak Jain.It was released on 27-11-2009. De Dana Dan is a loud film, with each and every character screaming on top of his/her voice, with the characters shouting, running, even floating and swimming in the end. But what do you expect in a Priyadarshan film that has a title like De Dana Dan? The promos never promised path-breaking or thought-provoking cinema that would give birth to debates and discussions. So why look for logic in this one?

Nitin Bankar (Akshay Kumar) is a driver under debt and Ram Mishra (Sunil Shetty) is a courier boy who hasn’t delivered much in life. Though both have already assigned girlfriends (Katrina, Sameera) for them, the film still takes too long to come to point. Archana (maalkin) loves her dog Moolchand more than she likes Akshay Kumar so for every error of his, she kicks him into the pool. The scenes between Archana, Akshay kumar and the dog remind you of Tom, Jerry and the Bulldog while the office scenes are straight out of The Devil Wears Prada. She is her usual, loud self but cracks you up in some scenes with Akshay. The film is regressive with Katrina’s father slapping her and her mother mouthing some lines about ‘taking care of your child.’ Most of the songs (Baimulaiza and Paisa) are dream sequences ala circa 1990, only glossier. They may be catchy but they are incongruous. The sets look dated. The film is set in Singapore but all the cops (the ones you need to deal with) are Indian and the kidnapping of an Indian servant is printed on the first page of a leading newspaper.

The Movie De Dana Dan has so many characters that it gets difficult to pinpoint or single out any one actor. Akshay is at his best in a Priyadarshan film and De Dana Dan proves it. Suniel is natural to the core. Paresh is incredible; he pitches in a superb act. Katrina kaif  and Sameera don’t have much to do. Amongst the plethora of actors, Johny Lever, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Vikram Gokhale and Archana Puransingh deserve special mention. On the whole, De Dana Dan is targeted at the masses and it delivers laughter in abundance. Leave your brains behind to enjoy this madcap entertainer! Now we have to see the response of this movie and I must go and watch one time at least. You will enjoy this movie.
