Karthik played by ‘Farhan Akhtar’ is a shy person with an introvert nature and is always bullied by his boss (Ram Kapoor).His boss and colleagues treat him like dirt.
He falls in love with his colleague “shonali”, played by Deepika Padukone.
But never told her about his feelings. He used to express his feelings by writing emails which was exactly around 1317 but he didn’t had that courage to send them to Shonali.
Karthik lacks in confidence, though he was an IIM passed out and topper.
But his life took a turning point when one night his phone rang and he got a call from himself.He got a call from a man who also claims to be Karthik. The man told him that he is here to change his life, and overcome all his weakness. And turn him into a successful man. And that one call actually changed the loser’s Karthik into a successful man, who achieved all the fame and his love as well for whom he had been dreaming since years.
Everyday he used to get that call at 5am,and that person used to guide him like a mentor ,like a friend and he even asked him not to tell about this call to anyone.
But Karthik wasn’t able to keep up that promise, and discloses this secret to his girlfriend Shonali, and after again all the things were changed but this time with the reverse effects.

On the contrary his sister Nisha(Shahana Goswami), tried every possible means to give happiness to her brother and finally becomes the mistress of a rich Businessman Aman Bajaj(Humayun Saeed). When Akash was on the verge of giving up, there comes the source of inspiration Sara(Anjana Sukhani), sister of Aman Bajaj. She keeps him inspired and forced him to the peak of his capabilities. And finally he found himself in a position what he always cherised for. His big break comes and he becomes the star voice of the music industry.

The music of the movie is splendid. Director of music for the movie is Shabri Verma where playback singing has been done by the likes of KK and Shreya Ghosal. All the tracks are pretty much from the new genre and likely to run the TV shows for next few months.
The lead role is played by Aftab Shivdasani and Amna Sharif. Nikhil(Aftab) returns from London and his parents keeps trying hard for his marriage in their own community. But Nikhil loves another girl of Muslim community whose name is Aamna(Aamna). But his father is strongly against his decision. So Nikhil seeks help from a family friend. He tells him to introduce an English as his girlfriend. And therefore comes Linda Arsenio in the movie where she tries to be the worst character among Aamna and herself. Here Aamna introduced herself as a friend of Linda(Nikki). And in the process she gets the nod of goodiness from the family members of Nikhil.
It’s a nice little story with lots of humour in it. Hopefully this will take the viewers to a whole new world of comedy. Its worth watching.
